Recently, I asked my 14-year-old daughter Sam to let me follow her around on the web. I wasn’t trying to pry, mind you. “Oh yeah, right, Dad!” says Sam. (What is the emoticon for an adolescent eye-roll, by the way?) I really just wanted to understand how her generation was coming to use the medium as an always-on device. “Dad, that is such a lame tactic!” Turns out that if you run just a couple of background checks and DNA scrapings on some of your daughter’s male friends, a parent gets forever branded as a “spy.” Teenagers!

THE place isn’t even five years old, but technology giants such as IBM, Microsoft, Dell and Sun Microsystems already maintain sprawling, futuristic offices there. They are joined by the likes of adidas, Calvin Klein, Coca-Cola, Sony BMG, Toyota and General Motors. Media outfits such as the British Broadcasting Corp., Sky News and Reuters operate out of the area, as do a number of US federal agencies. Last month, Sweden became the first country to establish an embassy there.

There's an interesting trend forming in online gaming now called a "real cash economy."
That means that there's an identifiable exchange rate between real world money and money in the virtual game world. That makes it possible to move money back and forth between the real and virtual world. Money that players make in the game can be credited to their bank account, and game money can be bought directly, instead of being earned by playing the game.

We had a comment over on the article asking is Second Life a Game?, this comment was so good we have featured it as today’s best comment and one that touched us here at products-reviews.net.
Many of us know friends or have family with disabilities, this comment touches on how people with disabilities are doing things in Second Life they could never do in real life.
