By Maelstrom Baphomet, CEO Dragon Global Diversified
The markets took a shock when Ginko collapsed and with the gambling rules, but it’s starting to show gradual signs of recovery in sectors that are not heavily ingrained in land. New ideas are filtering into SL involving marketing, advertising, and creative scripting such as with MECH, which promises to be a potentially very fulfilling operation assuming technical difficulties can be overcome. There are still very strong concerns though which merit note. Land prices are still in a catastrophic spiral. This can be good for some, bad for others. For sub-letters it offers the potential for better margins, for landowners trying to profit on a resell or monthly sim rental it poses a nightmare demanding greater vigilance and marketing expense to achieve the slimmest of margins.

By Arbitrage Wise, CEO Wise Metaverse I should be continuing my personal Bio, but I figured I better post the below Guest Post I made for "Second Life Millionaire" (http://second-life-millionaire.blogspot.com/). It kind of reiterates alot of what I have already said about the current state of my businesses, but provides some updated information. Enjoy! Most people already know who JT Financials is. And I think most people want to know how we can possibly provide the interest rate we do. Well, believe it or not, we do some sophisticated RL arbitrage trading that CAN provide us the interest. But, let's assume we didn't and just take a look at things from an in-world perspective.

By Aldon Hynes During my recent trading in the Second Life Capital Exchange (SLCAP), three stocks have particularly caught my attention, AIG, BNT and DGD. The three stocks are closely tied to trading activity here and each have seen interesting activity. Over the past couple of days, BNT has seen trading volume 15 to 20 times normal as it continues its downward trend. It closed on July 5th at 1.08, and by September 3rd had hit .25. IntLibber Brautigan is listed as its CEO and Chairman and Nicholas Portocarrero is listed as a Non-Executive Director, as is Maelstrom Baphomet Nicholas was also CEO of the recently collapsed Ginko Financial. IntLibber is listed as owning 84.5% of the stock, with Nicholas owning another 7.7%. Over the past week, 4.7 million shares were traded, with 3.5 million of this taking place in the last two days. When the fantasy dies, what are you left with? Second Life romance is a subject that we've never really talked about on SL Reports. It's something that, in general, is not discussed with any depth in the Second Life media.
For those of you that are unaware, I served a number of years as a Community Leader for AOL/ACI back in the "AOL Heyday," before a bunch of CLs in New York got smart and sued ACI for wages. Recent talks with friends about their online relationships, partnerships, and even Second Life 'marriages' have inspired me to write on this, though. I've seen my share of online romances and been right there with the parties involved when things go bad... and of course when they turn out well.

Want to work full-time in Second Life? Take a listen... and don't jump into something if you're unsure about it!By Xavier Mohr, Publisher SLReports.net An Editorial Believe it or not, it seems like almost a weekly basis now that I receive inquiries from random Second Lifers contemplating quitting their day jobs to pursue SL business ideas. I figured it was about time I brought together all the snippets of what I have told people into one article.
I'm not quite sure why people ask me necessarily. I have no formal education in business, nor do I even come close to operating the most successful business in SL. As well, most people that know me know that I have always retained my 9 to 5 publishing job in Oklahoma despite several high-profile business moves in Second Life. In any event, feel free to take this information and form your own opinion about working full-time in SL. All I can say is that it is based on numerous friendships with full-time SL'ers in addition to my own in-depth contemplation of this move.

Wow – it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had the chance to even sit down to write something. Plus, as a business owner, you’re walking a fine line when blogging because you need to be politically correct, but at the same time, share your thoughts with your readers. But we’ll give it a try anyways. SLCC – It wasn’t what I expected. I didn’t get much from the business track. Even though having the opportunity to sit down (to his right to be exact) and have lunch with Philip Linden did make the entire trip worthwhile. I had the chance to present JTF to him and sort of give him an idea of what we plan on doing in the financial sector. Hopefully, we assured him that we won’t be giving him more headaches after the Ginko incident.
