Carmen Gray lost two sons to random drive by shootings in LA California. To help other families, Carmen conducted Peace Marches attracting 1000s in RL, then she founded affective training programs that helped over 100,000 kids and adults. As Carmen Gray in SL, she continues these great traditions, through charity events, online information, and raising awareness, including the new SL Festival: Keeping Kids Safe.

In Carmen's own words... Since 1988, Keeping Kids Safe (AKA Drive By Agony and Life Learning) programs have been providing educational programs for victims of crime as well as youth that have been affected by violence with a violence- prevention youth program called "Straight Talk About Violence".
Drive By Agony was formed after the death of the founder, Ms Hawkin's first born son. He was murdered in a drive by shooting the night before Thanksgiving. Her son, Joe was an innocent victim of the senseless violence that pledges many communities. Drive By Agony went on to start marches for peace in Los Angeles in 1990. The march started with 50 mothers, and grew to thousands of people over the years. See: http://lhawkins.homestead.com/peace1.html In 1992 she lost yet another son to gun violence of a carjacking. Two drug addicts shot him in the stomach with a AK 47 assault rifle trying to rob him of his car. Gerald her second son's funeral was televised around the world. Today the clipping of the funeral and her speaking about the devastion of violence, is still being used in various ways as a learning tool to educate people about the devastation of violence.
Carmen Gray has been promoting Keeping Kids Safe campaign and every Linden raised goes directly toward this non-profit organization.
