 Vilnius, Lithuania, EU (September 18, 2008) - metaLIFE is announcing the launch of metaKIOSK, a stationary portal to the whole metaLIFE platform, in Second Life, September 30th. This new tool is combining several services into a single unified platform in the Virtual World.
MetaKIOSK will enable Second Life™ entrepreneurs to sell items on the grid-wide network and for landowners; the system will provide a revolutionary way to resell items relevant to their parcels. For residents, metaKIOSK will provide the ability to teleport to chosen locations, to review, and leave comments about any displayed content on the parcel. All services are powered by metaLIFE search.
The tool is all about empowering and connecting by opening up, creating more interaction, distribution and communication for all residents of Second Life. Second Life residents, merchants, businesses, organizations and landowners will all benefit from utilizing this new technology. All residents will have the ability to search for anything they need in an easy and intuitive way via a stationary KIOSK. Merchants and businesses will be able to sell items in-world on the grid-wide network of metaKIOSKS. Organizations will have the ability to promote in-world locations via a network of metaKIOSKS and be able to spread awareness about their operations. Landowners will be able to profit by reselling content along with the ability to provide interactive applications and refer residents to metaLIFE for further passive income.
A limited number of KIOSKS are being offered to qualified residents, merchants, businesses, organizations, and landowners for free for a limited time beginning at 10 am PDT, September 30, 2008. KIOSK usage impact on metaLIFE servers will be investigated after delivery date and necessary changes and system upgrades will be initiated to ensure metaLIFE service is at top performance.
