The Future of Religions/Religions of the Future is a two-day conference examining how two of the 21st Century's driving forces, religion and technology, will continue to re-shape each other and, in the process, re-cast our understanding of "humanity" in the Third Millennium. Centered on, but not limited to, virtual worlds and social networking technologies, speakers and panelists will also examine changes precipitated by the biotechnology revolution, cognitive science, information technologies and robotics.

Second Life - Monogram Virtua Convention Center Hosting Their First Annual Erotica Expo

SANTA MONICA, CA – Inside Second Life, Monogram Virtua Entertainment is proud to sponsor their first annual Second Life Erotica Expo. Hundreds of Erotica collectors from both the cyber and real worlds are set to arrive in Second Life May 31st to see both the erotic, sensual, sexual and exotic in cyberworld art and novelties. The Erotica Expo opens at 11AM Pacific Time at the convention center on Monogram Tria (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Monogram%20Tria/146/127/23) where Monogram Virtua’s co-founders Harold Whaley (SL name Hdub Shepherd), Randall Rubin (SL name Dubble Rokocoko), and Marketing Director Andrea McCloud (SL name Anakalia Catteneo) will be in attendance.    An small entrance fee will be charged to attend the event.  A limited number of press passes will be available.

The New Media Consortium (NMC) announced today the call for proposals for the 2008-09 NMC Virtual Learning Prize, a $100,000 competitive program of awards intended to create a collection of innovative open-source learning experiences that make use of the unique attributes of a virtual learning environment. As many as 20 NMC Virtual Learning Prizes will be awarded in 2008.
