The Al-Andalus Sims invite you to their upcoming Global Handshake Fair aimed at furthering the mission of global understanding and celebration of cultural diversity. Folk musicians, dancing, art, exhibitions and speakers, will entertain you, all presented against the beautiful background of Al Andalus September 5 and 6, 2008 beginning at 11a.m. SLT Friday.
Participants feature a presentation Saturday, live from SLCC, by Schmilsson Nilson and Eureka Dejavu, who will speak on Dancing Ink Production's philosophy that peace is not the absence of conflict but one's attitude toward it, as well as the Understanding Islam through Virtual Worlds project. The Convivencia Institute, Battersea Easterman and Conley Luminos "Dialogue on Dialogue: Creating Communities of Trust" will make presentations on Friday and Saturday, and Watts Larson of EIKOS will speak on "Energy, Food, and You? finding your own small place in a Global Environment. Musicians Cindy Ecksol, Naftali Torok, Professor Beliveau and Shantu Selene will profide folk music, and there will be flamenco and oriental dance, Art Exhibitions by Marino Nuvolari, StuiChicanne Darkstone and others, as well as a chess and fishing tournaments.
