This new acquisition will become an asset to the ever-growing AVC., but will remain privately owned by the group. During this period, for 30 days, withdraws from The Bank will be limited to 100,000L a week until the acquisition is complete.

The Bank is also announcing a new and innovative service to The Bank customers. World Wide Connect, owned by Lonnie Dagger, has also been purchased by Atlas Venture Capital to provide a Mastercard debit card service to all of The Bank customers. This card will enable people to deposit money into their debit accounts which can then be used with a real life Mastercard to buy lunch, or whatever else they desire, in the real world. There will be no transactions fees for this service, which is bonded by Lloyds of London. This is a first for Second Life and will really change the face of banking in the metaverse.

"These two acquisitions for Atlas Venture Capital will make the Bank a market leader in the finance community. No one else has tried to implement such a service to SL residents before, and it opens the door to an increased cross over between SL and real life, offering an additional portal for the withdrawal and deposit  of funds into and from hard cash," say Jasper Tizzy, CEO of Atlas Venture Capital.

where or when can i get one?
jasper Tizzy   |2007-08-10 19:18:45
Andy your wrong. Sorry.... FirstMeta is a SL credit card. We are a real life
credit card. It takes a few million USD to get a mastercard program like what we
have. Look again and you see it is not a real life hold in your hand credit
card, it is a sl prim credit card. And I work with BNT daily, and they also dont
have what we have. LOL
We will be a success, this is the 1st rl mastercard
that you can put your L$ into usd and on the card from "The Bank" atm
machine in sl. Then go pay for lunch with the mastercard.
Andy Grant   |2007-08-10 11:49:46
Thats exactly what firstmeta has to offer, two ways banking pay in lindens or
collect lindens and buy a lunch in rl :P

Despite the fact you're not first, i
still congratulate you ithink it'll be huge sucess, Jasper, keep up the good
work :-)
Xavier Mohr     |2007-08-10 10:54:16
Jasper, I don't get it though... is the debit card funded from the L$ balance? X
jasper Tizzy   |2007-08-10 10:33:09
To reply to Andy, this is a real life Mastercard Debit Card - not a Linden
Credit Card. This is for usd currency to buy lunch or make your car payment in
real life. Again we have yet to see any real Mastercard in second life. Bonded
and Insured by Lloyds of London. :))

"No one else has tried to implement such a service to SL residents
before" Realy ? ...

Nice move from Tizzy, however he's completely
uninformed, he's the 4th person to aim for that not first. The first bank that
offered this service is firstmeta, and it's already open for service, 2nd is BNT
wich acquired M2B and plans offer CC, 3rd is JT Financial with similar plans. So
in best case Tizzy will be the 2nd to offer this kind of service.

I'm very intrigued by the debit card, here. What would be even "more"
interesting is if the MasterCard would draw funds directly out of the Linden
balance in-world.

... or maybe it does?
jasper Tizzy   |2007-08-10 07:57:42
No, 100k a week is not a sign of a crash. Anyone who is a customer at The Bank
knows this bank is far from any type of crash.

Limiting deposits to L$100,000 a week? Does this mean another bank is crashing?
