September 20, 2007 (Second Life) - One of the most anticipated art events of the year is this weekend's re-inaugural Gala at the Crescent Moon Museum, Second Life's longest-running and most beloved art museum. The Crescent Moon Museum has moved to its new, much larger location at the Fairchang Village Island. The Crescent Moon will formally re-open its doors this Saturday, September 22nd, at 5pm SLT. Live performances by saxophone player Anakin Gallacher at 6pm, followed by pianist Enniv Zarf at 7pm, will serve as a musical backdrop and fill the moonlit gathering with their enchanting melodies. On that same evening and for this weekend only, Random Calliope - founder and creator of the highest fashion house of jewelry, the Random Calliope Gallery and Worthwhile line - will make available and free to all attending, his extraordinary collection of pearls, the edicatory Gatsby. (From Press Release - Reformatted for style but otherwise unedited.)
Art Sanctuary Isle is a whole new site based on Raspirit Heron's artwork; after initially being started in the skies above Hardangerfjord, Art Sanctuary rapidly evolved into a shared vision between the artist and SL content creator and scripter WieBenIk Beaumont; Raspirit Heron's (aka Tone Aa's) RL paintings are being transformed into an environment; with the moods and atmospheres characteristic in her imagery. The paintings which the site is based on are also exhibited throughout the site - a fairytale-like island with 'Castle of Golden Apples' (a nine story high castle filled with poems and images), Frog Castle (where her more nature-inspired paintings are shown), and Sun Flower House, Magical apple trees and gates, a chariot pulled by sea horses, and many more SL inspired creations.

These works present figures in hyperreal or surreal environments, and use digital compositing tools and collage to push the limits of photography and painting. Works displayed by Static Schultz and Ubix Voom are displayed in Gallery 1, and the works by Marisela Bouchard and Fau Ferdinand in Gallery 2.
