by StarDeAzul Starostin Poison Apple 2 has been a club in Ravens Cove on Second Life for six months; providing adult entertainment for Second Life members daily. Owners DJ Poopie Prunes and Mistress Damone operate their club on the land belonging to PA2 member Saressa Zadeh and they have collectively attempted to create an adult techno club with a family feel. Poopie Prunes describes the club as a “big club with the small pub atmosphere.” Visiting the club you will find a two level building, full of techno lights and a gothic feel, on a very green and well groomed piece of property. PA2 dancer, Roxette Heartsdale, was introduced to the club by her Second Life twin sister, Roxanne Barbosa.” “I like the music and the people. It’s a great club; they do events every day,” said Roxette. She recommends Second Life members to visit, believing the DJs “really know their music.” Common weekly events include: Thursday, 5-7 pm SL, with DJ Trinity Niven performing Goth Night, Friday is Sleaze Night with DJ Poopie Prunes, 4-6 pm SL, and Sunday is spent with Tuttle’s Trivia and Tunes performed by DJ Vincent Tuttle, 3-5 pm SL. Poopie Prunes believes the new addition of DJ Trinity Niven, Poison Apple 2’s first female DJ, and hostess Marsha Morenz helps provide more entertainment weekly to please visitors. Also, the owner’s are constantly striving to create unique and entertaining events to fill their weekly schedule, and visitors can only guess what they will come up with next. Upon being asked about future changes, owner Poopie Prunes stated “why fix it when it is not broken?” The Poison Apple 2 already provides a wide variety of music, and your favorite songs may be requested during events. When events are not happening, DJ Poopie Prunes’ techno dance selections play for visitors. With already a great number of Poison Apple 2 lovers, Poopie Prunes would like to say to new visitors “welcome to the family.”

I've avoided writing about Secondfest, last weekend's 3-day music festival in virtual world Second Life, here on the gamesblog because I knew the reaction of this community would be negative. However, that's where I've been for the past week. So if you are interested in this ground-breaking event, where over 30 bands performed to over 15,000 people, you can read what I wrote about it on the Music Blog. You can also see photos on MySpace and check out the iterant life-blogging on Twitter. Hearty congratulations to everyone who took part, including The Guardian, Intel, Rivers Run Red and in-world music promoter Slim Warrior. The virtual site was jam-packed for the three days (I missed Pet Shop Boys because the servers were too full), and apart from the anticipated difficulties with the technological limitations of the application, the whole thing was a great success. Listen up, amateur Egyptologists and would-be Indiana Joneses: thanks to the Giza Archives Project, all you need to explore the Great Pyramids is a computer and a comfortable chair!
The Giza Archives Project, established by Boston's Museum of Fine Arts in January 2005, aims to become the world's central online repository for all archaeological activity at the necropolis, beginning with the major 20th-century excavations that were jointly funded by the museum and Harvard University. PARIS, — Critics may fume about violent killer video games, but top manufacturers are starting to beat some of their swords into beauty tips.
My Word Coach is a video game meant to improve vocabularies.
By fall, software developers will start introducing offerings aimed at nudging players to bond with Grandma, balance their hormones and eat their peas.
Ubisoft, the French manufacturer known for its top-selling Rayman game and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, is betting on a vocabulary-building exercise game called My Word Coach.
Also in the works is My Life Coach, which will be packaged with a pedometer and a portable Nintendo DS player that analyzes walking and rewards exercise and a hearty breakfast with game play.
Konami, the Japanese manufacturer of rough-and-tumble sports titles like Pro Evolution Soccer, is poised to offer a beauty care guide on DS consoles. The game player dispenses customized advice based on the player’s basal body temperature and hormone balance.
Those steps reflect an intensifying effort to attract a global mass market for portable video games, which are expected to hit $10 billion in sales this year, according to DFC Intelligence, a game research company in San Diego.
